Here’s something that should reframe how you think about your tech stack: Persistent Systems grew revenue by 30.3% in Q2 FY27 while its sales and marketing spend grew at less than two-thirds of that rate – 20.3%. That gap isn’t luck. It’s what happens when automation is doing the heavy lifting that headcount used to handle. For RevOps teams trying to do more with tighter budgets, the right sales automation tools are no longer a nice-to-have. They’re the difference between a sales pipeline that moves and one that quietly stalls.

The best sales automation tools for RevOps right now are: Salesforce (with Agentforce), Klient PSA with Klient Insights, Docusign Intelligent Agreement Management, TreviPay, and HubSpot Sales Hub. Each fits a different stage of the revenue process, and none of them is a perfect fit for every team. Below is an honest breakdown of each.

What Should Sales Automation Tools Actually Do for RevOps?

The answer isn’t “automate everything.” That’s a fast way to build a system nobody trusts. The best tools handle specific, repeatable tasks – data entry, agreement tracking, payment collection, pipeline visibility – so your reps and ops managers can focus on judgment calls that actually require a human.

Good sales automation should reduce the time between stages in your sales cycle, improve sales forecasting accuracy, and give your team clean data to act on. If a tool adds work instead of removing it, that’s a signal it’s the wrong fit for your workflow – not a sign you need to train harder on it.

Salesforce with Agentforce – Best for Enterprise RevOps Teams

Salesforce remains the center of gravity for enterprise go-to-market operations in 2026. Agentforce – Salesforce’s AI agent layer – has changed what the platform can do in day-to-day selling, moving it from a system of record to something that can act on data without waiting for a rep to notice a signal.

The recent expanded partnership with Docusign embeds Intelligent Agreement Management directly into Salesforce, Agentforce, and Slack, which means agreement workflows are now tied directly to deal stages rather than living in a separate inbox thread. That’s a meaningful reduction in deal friction. We covered the agreement problem in detail in Why Your Sales Tech Stack Has an Agreement Problem – and this integration is a direct answer to it.

Pros: Unmatched ecosystem depth; Agentforce adds genuine AI-driven action rather than just AI-generated suggestions; integrates with nearly every tool in a modern stack
Cons: Expensive at scale; implementation complexity is real and often underestimated; smaller teams will feel the overhead immediately
Pricing: Sales Cloud starts around $25/user/month at Starter tier; Enterprise is $165/user/month; Agentforce pricing is consumption-based and varies significantly
Best for: Enterprise RevOps teams with dedicated Salesforce admins, complex multi-product deal structures, or high-volume agreement workflows

Klient Insights (Klient PSA) – Best for Services-Led Revenue Teams

Most PSA tools make you pull data. Klient Insights pushes it to you. Launched on October 15, 2026, it puts live dashboard views directly inside Salesforce – answering what Klient describes as the four core questions every services leader asks at the start of a Monday review, without switching tabs, exporting spreadsheets, or waiting for a report to run.

That’s a deceptively simple idea. But anyone who’s sat through a Monday pipeline review where half the time goes to reconciling numbers from three different sources knows exactly how much that friction costs.

Klient Insights is designed to answer the four questions every services leader asks on Monday, live, on the data already in Klient PSA – without leaving Salesforce.

For professional services companies where revenue recognition is tied to project delivery, having PSA and CRM data on a single screen isn’t just convenient. It’s operationally critical. Your Net Revenue Retention figures mean nothing if your services team can’t see which accounts are at risk in real time.

Pros: Native Salesforce experience means no context switching; purpose-built for services revenue teams; live data rather than scheduled refreshes
Cons: Only relevant if you’re already on Salesforce; less useful for product-led or transactional revenue models; limited public information on customization depth at launch
Pricing: Klient PSA pricing starts at approximately $75/user/month; Insights is included as part of the platform
Best for: RevOps teams at professional services, consulting, or implementation firms running on Salesforce who want Monday-morning clarity without a manual reporting process

Docusign Intelligent Agreement Management – Best for Closing Velocity

Docusign isn’t just an e-signature tool anymore. The Intelligent Agreement Management platform uses AI to extract, analyze, and act on the data inside contracts – turning an agreement from a static document into a live part of your revenue workflow.

The expanded Salesforce partnership that embedded IAM into Agentforce and Slack is the part that matters most here. When a contract condition changes, your CRM can know about it. When a renewal clause triggers, your ops team doesn’t need to manually set a reminder. That kind of agreement intelligence directly affects churn rate for subscription businesses because renewals stop falling through the cracks.

Pros: Deep Salesforce and Slack integration as of 2026; AI extraction reduces manual contract review time; connects agreement data to deal stages automatically
Cons: Pricing can escalate quickly at volume; the full IAM feature set requires higher-tier plans; some RevOps teams will find the AI extraction needs tuning for non-standard contract formats
Pricing: eSignature plans start around $15/user/month; IAM platform pricing is available on request and scales with usage and feature tier
Best for: B2B sales teams with high agreement volume, complex contract structures, or renewal-heavy revenue models where agreement lag is measurably slowing close rates

TreviPay – Best for B2B Payments Automation

Most sales automation discussions skip payments entirely. That’s a mistake. For B2B companies selling on credit terms or through complex invoicing structures, the gap between closed-won and cash collected is where Annual Recurring Revenue quietly leaks.

TreviPay was named a Leader in two 2026 IDC MarketScape assessments – one for AI-Enabled Accounts Receivable Automation and one for Embedded Payments. Those are different categories, which tells you something about the platform’s breadth. The AR automation side reduces manual collections work, while the embedded payments side means you can put net terms and invoicing options directly into your buyer’s purchase flow rather than bolting them on afterward.

Pros: Strong IDC MarketScape recognition in two distinct categories in 2026; reduces AR follow-up burden on RevOps and finance; embedded payments reduce friction at the point of purchase
Cons: Primarily relevant to B2B companies offering credit or net terms; integration complexity varies by existing ERP and CRM setup; not a fit for consumer-facing or low-ticket transactional businesses
Pricing: Custom pricing based on transaction volume and integration scope; contact TreviPay directly for a quote
Best for: B2B manufacturers, distributors, and enterprise vendors where payment terms are part of the sales conversation and AR management is a recurring operational cost

HubSpot Sales Hub – Best for Mid-Market RevOps Teams

HubSpot Sales Hub sits in a specific sweet spot: powerful enough to handle sophisticated automation – sequences, deal pipeline triggers, AI-assisted forecasting – without requiring a dedicated admin team to keep it running. That matters for mid-market RevOps functions where one or two people are responsible for the entire tech stack.

Where HubSpot earns its place in a RevOps stack is reporting transparency. Your win rate by rep, by sequence, by Ideal Customer Profile segment – it’s all accessible without a data team. The tradeoff is that at the high end of deal complexity, HubSpot’s customization starts to feel constrained compared to Salesforce.

Pros: Fast to implement; strong out-of-the-box reporting for MRR and pipeline metrics; sequences and automation workflows are genuinely intuitive
Cons: Enterprise-tier pricing has increased significantly; some advanced RevOps configurations require workarounds; the CRM and Sales Hub pricing can stack up fast across a full GTM team
Pricing: Sales Hub Starter at $20/seat/month; Professional at $100/seat/month; Enterprise at $150/seat/month
Best for: Mid-market RevOps teams that want genuine sales automation without the implementation overhead of an enterprise platform

How to Choose the Right Sales Automation Tool for Your RevOps Stack

The honest answer is that most RevOps teams will use more than one of these. Salesforce or HubSpot handles the CRM layer. Docusign handles agreements. TreviPay handles collections. Klient PSA handles project-to-revenue visibility. They’re not competing for the same job.

Start by evaluating where your Customer Acquisition Cost is highest relative to close rate – because that’s usually where manual friction is doing the most damage. If deals close but take three weeks to countersign, that’s an agreement problem. If deals close but invoices age past 60 days, that’s a payments problem. If your Monday review takes two hours of prep, that’s a visibility problem.

Pick the tool that solves the most expensive problem first. You can always add layers to your tool stack once the primary bottleneck is cleared. Building a complete automation stack before you understand where the friction actually lives is how teams end up with five tools and slower processes than when they started.

And that brings us back to where we started: Persistent Systems grew revenue 30 percent while spending less, proportionally, on sales and marketing. The automation did the scaling. The team focused on what automation can’t do. That’s the model worth building toward – and the right combination of sales automation tools is what makes it possible.
